Don't Give Up Too Soon

She was perfect in his eyes. He was perfect in her eyes (he guessed.)

But what happens next?
Would everything fall into place?
Was it the right time to be certain that they were supposed to be together forever?

Oh, it's the majestic harmony of young love! When two souls meet - and gaze into each other's eyes.

Tony, a young man, met Kaylee, a beautiful & a desirable young woman on a mission to climb Nevada de Colima Mountain.

Both seemed to be finding something new, meet someone new who might see things a little differently. Isn't that what everybody is looking for - making a difference?

Many would hear this and agree with it - the feelings that steer our romantic relationships are quite similar to those that steer our motivation to make a meaningful impact in our lives and thus a meaningful impact in the world.




"A little passion is all that is required to start, but only sustained perseverance makes it worthwhile. Marching forward with one foot ahead of the other even when the going gets tough and even when it would be easier to give up - is what true love is all about."

The mountain climb was about courage & encouragement, putting one foot ahead of the other and lifting each other till Tony & Kaylee made it to the peak.


Then, it must be this kind of love, and only this kind of Love that can make the world a better place and us stronger, healthier and happier human beings in the long run.

Tony vowed to genuinely pursue this friendship.

THE KINDERGARTEN

I was ten years by then. In a small kiosk, I met my caring Dad who broke the news to me; “I’m transferring you to an academy.” Over the next 11 yrs or so, I spent most of my life trying to specialize myself in a building called ‘school.’ Finally, according to the set system, the schooling came an end when I did my last paper on campus, BBA 407. Little did I know schooling had just begun! When I was 21 years, I remember these words from David, former schoolmate: Life itself is a school — a kindergarten. I thought he was mad! A NOTE FOR JUNIOR

At the age of 12 or so, my mom and dad moved to Texas. I cannot tell you what exactly the reason was or pretty much any other detail about the relocation because I honestly do not recall anything of the sort. One of the most vivid reasons to smile at that time was getting closer to my childhood friend, Junior. We must have been tiny kids when we met each other and started getting along so well. Neither of us knows the exact year of our comradeship. Years passed. And the comradeship turned to a brotherhood. One day we were sent to the woods, we had to sort out the cows as the weekend was approaching. Uncontrollably, each of us started laughing. We stopped cutting the thick grass. We sat and initiated a chat about life. We had big dreams. We both wanted to make it so soon… “Hey, look at the sky, yet two more rounds, remember the route we are using, I mean the hill”. SHOW UP EVERY DAY!

On the other side of the telephone, she was dreaming, yearning & hoping for better days. All this was evident from her penetrating voice. This got me thinking…For so long I lied I was busy. Yes, I was busy; #Planning ahead #Sharpening my skills #Taking deeper breaths #Making lots of mistakes #Chasing the things I love #Telling myself I will make to the end Putting one foot ahead of the other even when I got hurt—for one never know what is in waiting just around the bend. Within the busy season; Growth, Strength & Maturity was my package. Things I will need to sustain me in the ‘better days ahead’ mission. On this other side of the telephone, I had gotten some motivation. The words were so clear in the air: “All is within reach, all you got to do is show up every day. Remember to lift one another when you can. On & On…till you get to the top.” Thank you.

We build things and make things happen on our own terms: We are architects of our destiny(s). However, over the years, I put pieces of myself in every story and my perspective has shifted. Reflect about this; *The young man who had his life turned upside down by cancer. *The young woman, and mother of two, who lost her husband to death at 27. *The hard-working employee who lost her job when her employer of 25 years filed for bankruptcy. Life will take things from you, gradually & continuously. It's funny how we outgrow what we once thought we couldn't live without and then we fall in love with what we didn't even know we wanted.
